About Microneedling with PRP
Nordstar Medical, Skincare & Laser Center is proud to offer microneedling with the innovative Eclipse MicroPen® device, a process that punctures tiny holes into the skin on your neck, face, or chest to stimulate skin repair. As an added bonus, your own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can be applied to the same area to further help tissue heal and permit the skin to begin growing new cells. These two treatments together can lessen the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, spots, large pores, and other skin problems. The feel of your skin can be greatly improved to look smoother and more even without damaging the skin. If you would like to find out more about the microneedling treatment and the addition of PRP, schedule a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Laura Dipuma at her office in Jackson or Dyersburg, TN.

Am I A Candidate for Microneedling?
A perfect candidate for microneedling with or without PRP would be any individual looking to alter the appearance or texture of the top layer of their skin. Dry skin, uneven skin tone, harsh texture, loose skin, age spots, wrinkles, acne, and scarring are all skin conditions that may benefit from a microneedling treatment. This procedure can also be employed to help fight the effects of sun damage that might have caused your skin to have a rough feel or hyperpigmentation.
Microneedling Technique
Prior to the microneedling section of your session, a member of our team will draw your blood for the PRP collection if you are receiving this additional therapy. The drawn blood will then be taken to our laboratory for the separation process where your stem cells, platelets, and growth factors can be turned into PRP. For the microneedling treatment, Nordstar Medical, Skincare & Laser Center uses state-of-the-art technology to make minuscule holes into your skin. The tiny needles used will not harm your skin but will instead help stimulate the creation of collagen. When the microneedling is finished, the PRP serum will be applied to the epidermis to sink in. Once the PRP is fully absorbed, we will clear away the serum and cleanse your skin.
Microneedling Recovery
After your microneedling procedure, you might encounter some regular effects, such as bruising, swelling, and redness. We recommend that patients do not wear makeup, cleanse with exfoliating face washes, or submerge in a swimming pool for about three days following the session. Activities like this can expose the skin to strong chemicals and bacteria, which may lead to negative reactions. You also need to limit exposure to the sun or use protective steps when planning to be outdoors. Full, optimal results are usually noticed within the first month as the skin works to repair and heal itself.
Restore and Revitalize
This innovative procedure can be very beneficial for individuals seeking to get back the original appearance and texture of the skin. It can help make skin look younger, smoother, more luminous, and firmer. We urge patients to learn more about this treatment by speaking to one of our certified aestheticians or by setting up an appointment at our Jackson or Dyersburg, TN facility today.
